Welcome to the website for Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein), Montefiore Medical Center (MMC), The University Hospital & Academic Medical Center, Center for Continuing Medical Education (CCME).

I am pleased to be working in conjunction with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Medical Association (AMA) to ensure that guidelines and policies are followed to deliver effective continuing medical education activities. Our CME activities are developed to enhance physician competence, performance and/or patient outcomes. We rely on the involvement of our renowned faculty and Advisory Board for their professional expertise and support to create relevant and interesting curriculums. We are very grateful to our faculty for their contributions to these successful activities.

Since the founding of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center CCME Office in 1976, we have become the largest medical school-based CME Accredited Provider in the State of New York. In 2006, we sponsored and certified over 300 national and international CME activities attended by over 39,000 physicians and 18,000 allied healthcare professionals. These activities consisted of live meetings, grand rounds, and a variety of enduring materials that included CD-ROMs/DVDs, audio and videotapes, monographs, journal articles, supplements, and Internet activities.

CCME recognizes the need to evaluate and measure educational outcomes and it has become our focus. Currently, we are organizing training sessions to measure and interpret the effect of CME on physician performance and patient care. We will continue to research and implement innovative ways to track, evaluate and analyze all of our activities.

Victor B. Hatcher, PhD

Associate Dean & Director

Dr. Hatcher, PhD is currently the Director of the Office for Research and Sponsored Programs and the Director of the Office for Clinical Trials at Montefiore Medical Center . In 1996, he was appointed Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education and Director of the Center for Continuing Medical Education at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University . Dr. Hatcher, a Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry, has published over 75 original articles in peer-reviewed journals and several chapters in textbooks. His area of expertise is vascular biology.
