Intended Audience
This conference has been designed to assist practicing general and laparoscopic surgeons and other surgical health professionals in evaluating standards of care and new techniques and interventions for surgical conditions of breast and rectal cancer and other topics in surgery.
Activity Goals and Needs
The goal of this activity is to present important information that is key to surgeons in their diagnosis and management of surgically related issues so that they will be able to increase their clinical skills and provide the patients they see with better clinical outcomes and care.
Educational Objectives
Over a three-day period you will hear multiple experts discuss standards of care and new techniques in the diagnosis and management of surgical problems relating to cancer. Longer than usual discussion periods will be used to allow full development and airing of differing and controversial viewpoints and for response to your questions. At the conclusion of this conference you will be able to identify the relative strengths and weaknesses, advantages and drawbacks of each approach.


By your attendance at this conference you will be able to:

· Evaluate controversies concerning the management of breast and rectal cancer.
· Be versed in new techniques for treating breast cancer.
· Understand the techniques, benefits and complications of various operations for rectal resection.
· Understand the latest advances in trauma surgery.
· Be up-to-date in advances in parathyroid, thyroid and adrenal surgery.
· Discuss the management of melanomas.
